Elections for the co-Presidents of Model Security Council IRC Welcome Week 2019 will be held in Sever 113. Elections will begin with an 8-minute presentation from each pair of candidates, followed by a Q&A. Every pair in the Q&A will get the chance to answer every question. The votes will be decided by a ranked-choice system.

Feel free to show up if you know who your partner might be or even if you don’t!
Our first Board of Directors meeting of the semester will be held in Harvard Hall 103 beginning promptly at 7pm. During this meeting, candidates for the two open BoD positions will give short speeches. All general members of the IRC are welcome to attend. Other agenda items for the meeting include discussing the election schedule for the semester, as well as internships and financial matters.
I wanted to invite you all to an event focused on human rights & journalism that is happening this coming Saturday from 3-5pm in the Pfoho Hastings Room. In the wake of the Jamal Khashoggi case, experts from the Woodrow Wilson Center in D.C., the Carr Center for Human Rights, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and the Burma Task Force will be joining us for a forum event and discussion about the implications of targeting media. In addition to incredible speakers, this event WILL HAVE FOOD!

Amy Dacey served as President Barack Obama’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Democratic National Committee. As Executive Director of EMILY’s List, Amy oversaw a five-fold growth in membership and nearly doubling its fundraising. Amy has worked for several other organizations including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Fund for America, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Recently, she was vice president and managing director for MWWPR.
